John Paulson thinks that global writedowns and losses from the credit crisis may reach $1.3 trillion. According to him we are only a third of the way through the writedowns. Well, if what he says is true, tighten your seat belts.....and buy some Gold.

I hope the worst is over but who knows.

My sense is that gold prices have peaked for a while but I could be swayed. I really think the inflation problem is much more in control than some fear. Gas prices are depressing economic activity more than they are spilling over into finished goods.
